1, Location

Hanoi is the heart of Vietnam, Ba Dinh Square is the heart of Hanoi. Because there have been important events of the capital and also of the whole country.  There are two very special events that no one can forget:

-        The August Revolution was successful, in Ba Dinh Square, Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence that gave birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The event of the same name of Ba Dinh Square has been known to the whole world.

-        On September 9, 1969, six days after Ho's death, in the same square, the memorial ceremony for him was solemnly celebrated. Tens of thousands of people in the capital and localities and 34 international delegations came here to attend the ceremony.

Uncle Ho, the great president of the nation, the world's cultural celebrity. His whole life has been a shining example for us to follow. He is gone, but his soul, his thoughts, his personality, his way of life remains forever. In memory of Uncle Ho, remembering his gratitude, the state and people of Vietnam for building the mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh as a mark for that great man.

2, construction time.

Regarding the execution process, the design and preparation of construction of The Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh was carried out urgently from the beginning of 1970, but due to the war, the mausoleum was started on September 2, 1973, over a period of nearly 2 years of construction,  The mausoleum was completed and inaugurated on August 29, 1975. The chairman's mausoleum was built on the site of the monument in the middle of the historic Ba Dinh Square – where Uncle Ho once read the declaration of independence, the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

A large number of architects, engineers and officials in many agencies designing industries and the military... He has put all his abilities and wisdom to study the design of the Mausoleum.

Based on the design of Soviet experts and our design plan, combined with the participation of a large number of people, the Politburo - Party Central Committee has decided to choose the design plan of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.

On August 29, 1975, The Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh was inaugurated in the middle of the historic Ba Dinh. From Ba Dinh Square looking up, the majestic but simple Mausoleum, the entire Mausoleum has the stylized shape of a lotus station – the symbolic flower of the Vietnamese people.

3, Special Features

The Mausoleum with the words: "PRESIDENT HO CHI MINH" on the roof of the antenna is grafted with turquoise stone in Cao Bang, the main door of the Mausoleum is clad in jade stone, the stairs are paved with marble, all the walls and columns inside are clad in marble. Particularly, the main wall of the hall is covered with red and pink marble, as the background for the words "Nothing is more precious than free independence" and uncle's signature, the gold-plated inscription and signature rise brightly – this is also his wish, aspiration and thought throughout since leaving Saigon Harbor to find a way to save the country. As president of the country, a lifetime of fighting for the independence and freedom of the nation.

The room where President Ho Chi Minh's body is located in the middle of the mausoleum. Through the glass, the president's body can be seen in a simple khaki suit and a pair of rubber slippers at his feet. In front of the mausoleum is Ba Dinh Square with wide roads for parades and parades. President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum will always be guarded by guards.

Every day, at the mausoleum, there will be a high flag ceremony starting at 6:00 am (summer) - 6:30 am (winter) in the morning and the flag-lowering ceremony will take place in the evening. The mausoleum will be open to visitors on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings.
