When the X-Men formed a team known as X-Factor, Walt Simonson added large X’s to their costumes that made them really pop on the page. Cyclops got a large X that took up most of his visor, while Jean got a solid black suit with red and light blue accents.

Shiro Yoshida is a Japanese mutant with the ability to fire energy blasts. He has a complicated history with the X-Men, and his costume has been through a lot.

When he first joined the team, he wore a uniform similar to that of Captain Britain, but it was later revamped to include more symbols of Japan. He was eventually defeated by Namor the Sub-Mariner, who convinced him to change his ways.

In the New Mutants, he was part of a scheme sanctioned by his government to mutate humans in Japan. Afterwards, he took on the name Emperor Sunfire and became ruler of Asia.
